Dominican Republic Missionaries
Keep up with the adventures of our missionaries by checking out their website. You can see video, pictures and read about their work at: www.livingletter.org. They have recently been reassigned from Panama to the Dominican Republic, and look forward to beginning their work there soon.
In January 2011, James tells of his project to produce an innovative and emotionally engaging Christmas short film to reach Panamanians with the meaning of Christmas and the unadulterated hope of the Gospel. It was met with much acclaim! The film was featured on the mainline television station in Panama during prime time on Christmas Eve, on the website of the Panamanian SNL and received offers of future help and publication in Argentina, Mexico and Costa Rica. On the internet, the film has received over 4,200 unique views at the time of this writing, most coming from Latin America. God is certainly blessing this project!

My Brother's Keeper Monthly Servant Event
NewLife has a wonderful new mission opportunity right here in our own back yard. My Brother's Keeper is a homeless shelter in Flint that provides a meal, a bed and a devotional time for men in need, and could use our help. Beginning January 21, 2011, we have the privilege of serving God as we serve these men for an evening by preparing a meal, leading a devotional worship service, and eating and visiting with them. You may choose to be involved in a variety of ways including set-up, food preparation, serving, visiting, clean-up and worship. There is a sign-up sheet and more information in the Cafe.
"Whatever you did for the least of these brothers of mine, you did for Me." (Matthew 25:40)
Feed The Hungry Collection ...
Our 3rd Sunday offering is collected each month to support two local food pantries and a children’s backpack program. Your generous donations help feed many, including the kids who have a backpack full of food to take home each weekend to make sure they eat inbetween school days. Thanks to all who have, and continue to support this ministry!
Adopt A Highway
Volunteers from NewLife gather each spring and fall to help make our community a little cleaner by picking up trash along US23 between Hill Road and Grand Blanc Road. Eight brave souls fought the cold, rain and wind cleaning up US 23 on Oct. 3, 2010. Forty-eight bags of garbage were collected. Thanks to all who pitched in! Next highway clean-up will be in May 2011.
Habitat for Humanity
NewLife volunteers joined forces with Habitat for Humanity and other local churches to build a new home near downtown Flint in the summer of 2008.
