HOW
DID NEWLIFE GET STARTED?
A small group of people decided to start a church that was determined
to tell their community that people really do matter to God. People
from all walks of life need to feel the love of God. The church's
primary focus is helping them to become fully devoted followers
of Jesus Christ. We currently are averaging 230 on a Sunday, many
are new and repeat visitors.
WHAT DOES YOUR CHURCH BELIEVE?
We
believe the Bible is God's Word and is relevant for every generation.
Even though NewLife is non-traditional in style, we are deeply committed
to the inerrant, unchanging truth of the Bible. As a community of
believers, we are affiliated with the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod
headquartered in St. Louis. We operate as an independent church
among other member churches in the Genesee County area. We are connected
to our church's national headquarters through our District Office
located in Ann Arbor. For more information on the LCMS go to www.lcms.org.
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?
One of the banners that hung on our front lawn displayed a pair
of blue jeans and said "CHURCH CLOTHES." We believe people can be
comfortable in church. At NewLife, you'll see everything from business
casual to shorts and sandals. The most important thing is that you
come!
WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BE A MEMBER OF NEWLIFE?
We exist to help people become devoted followers of Jesus Christ.
Members do this by committing to growing in understanding of God's
great love for us. This is a lifelong process and happens through
regular worship, Bible study and relationships with one another
through small groups. For more information on membership at NewLife
IS THERE A WAY FOR ME TO BE INVOLVED?
We believe it is important that God's people are given an opportunity
to serve and be involved. God has supplied all His people with special
gifts in order to use the right people, in the right places, for
the right reasons. For more information on opportunities to get
involved, please see our current ministires
at NewLife Lutheran Church.
